Pete Shimshock is a strategic business developer with an emphasis in marketing and entertainment businesses. He enjoys working on projects that overlap the worlds of entertainment, storytelling, technology, art, and business.
He began in the music industry where he worked for over a dozen music festivals, hustled as an independent promoter, managed a roster of diverse musical artists, ran a startup out of the Stanford GSB Launchpad Incubator, and had an internship overseeing the North American Festival assets at headquarters of Live Nation Entertainment.
He runs and manages an online music blog & archive called IndieMusic.Life. He also runs a musician resource site called LocalMusic.Online which has provided free tools and guides to thousands of emerging musicians around the world.
In 2017, he worked at Music City SF, assisting and advising in the constructing of an artist development incubator, venue, restaurant, hotel, and the San Francisco Hall of Fame with Rudy Colombini. Other collaborators included a former dean from E’xpressions College in Emeryville, a multi-platinum music producer, a former Disney Imagineer, and some of the top restaurant consultants in the bay area.
In 2018, Pete began working on at a startup called BlackBird Labs to make it easier for creatives to find and collaborate with each other and discover paid gigs. He was the event coordinator and bar manager the X Bar in Cupertino – an integrated family entertainment center with a 200 person stage.
In November 2018, he began working at Decision Counsel – a small but elite marketing and strategy consulting firm working with clients spanning a wide variety of industries including telecom infrastructure, hospitality, talent screening, SaaS, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
